PRINCESS' NOTE
Beauty is an Aura
I’ve always been guided by a belief rooted in Indian wisdom: that true beauty is not something you wear, but something you radiate. It is an inner quality, a तेजस् - a glow that comes from a serene mind and a pure heart. The designs we choose are not a mask to hide behind, but a medium to amplify the aura we already carry within us.
A piece of jewellery or an article of clothing is only as beautiful as the confidence with which it is carried. My vision for TASTA has always been to craft creations with such a pure heart and intention that they become a partner to the wearer's own inner light. It’s a shared energy, a partnership between the artisan's soul and my vision, that brings a design to its fullest potential.
Lesson to start with
This belief wasn't learned from a book; it was something I understood by watching my mother. For daily life, she wore simple, elegant sarees. But for the most special occasions, a few treasured heirlooms would emerge - a pure Bandhani, a Banarasi silk, and a Patola, so rich in craft and history it felt sacred.
The profound lesson was in their longevity. These were not disposable trends; they were timeless creations, worn and re-imagined for decades, their value deepening with each story they became a part of. I realised then that the most luxurious object is not the newest, but the one so intentionally crafted that its life extends for generations, ready to be loved, re-styled, and passed down.
Crafting with Purpose
Today, I focus on the intricate details and meticulous finishing that preserve the essence of the craft. My obsession with perfection reflects my commitment to the partnership between my vision and the artisan's skill, ensuring that the final creation is worthy of becoming a part of someone else's legacy.
A design's integrity is rooted in the details that can be felt, not just those that are visible. This personal and almost obsessive commitment to craftsmanship ensures that every TASTA piece possesses its own unique energy, ready to connect with its wearer.
